Many, many years ago, Matt and Sandy lived and worked on the North Rim at the Kaibab Lodge. The Kiabab Lodge is the seedy second cousin to the Grand Canyon Lodge and the Sipps always wanted to stay at the Grand Canyon Lodge. So, it was high on the list of things they wanted to do on this trip. I loved staying at the Lodge and I'm happy they insisted we do it.
We had plans to meet early and watch the sunrise, but in the night both boys got sick and threw up. I asked the Sipps to keep an eye on the kids and went off to snap a few pictures before they left for breakfast.
We had planed to meet in the Lodge for the breakfast buffet but I had to stay back with the boys. I was pretty bummed but the Sipps and Nora helped me so I got a chance to see the sunrise and also eat.
The Lodge dinning room. How is that for a view?
The other side of the room after breakfast was served.
A sitting room for those that don't want to sit outside on the terrace.
Of course pictures never do it justice!
Here are my sick boys back at the cabin.
A family picture of the Sipps.
