The New House

Here is the new house we are buying.  It is a foreclosure, and sorely in need of some TLC.  It is located about 3 miles south of us in a neighborhood similar to where we live now.  The house is also very close to what we have just with a little bit more square footage, a barn and acreage.

We had our eye on the house for months after seeing that it was going into foreclosure.  It was sold in an online auction, a very strange experience for us... buying a house online.  But, we got it at a fantastic price.

It is located on a cul-de-sac on a quiet dirt road.

Kitchen

For a foreclosure, the house is in good shape.  It's not trashed, just very outdated.

The bathrooms still have the gold toilets from the 70's.

If you look close you can see the tarp on the roof.  Assumably, the reason this house was in foreclosure.  Due to the solar panels and antennae on top a leak formed and the roof needs to be replaced.  The other big problem is the AC unit, it no longer works.  Other than that and updating there are no major problems.

The barn.  It too is old and in need of paint or siding, but we can wait awhile before having to tackle that.

The "stalls" and trash left by the pervious owners.

The barn has room for our horses and chickens along with enough room for Chad to have a shop.

We have a lot of work ahead of us! At this point we don't even have a closing date so it might be awhile before we move.

4th of July

For the 4th of July we were invited to the Hagers new house for a BBQ and fireworks.

They had some ADORABLE kittens.

Nathaniel and Tim testing out the tire swing.

Did I mention the adorable kittens?  This one was so tired out from being played with that she gladly took a nap on my lap.

Tim Hager took the boys for 4-wheeling rides.

Nathaniel, need I say more?

Down at the creek Timothy found a crawdad pincher.

The kids playing at the creek.

The men playing a lawn game.

Tim Hager took us back in the woods to an old abandoned dairy barn.  It was fun to explore.

In the creek I found this, what I think is an old grave stone.

Fireworks time!

Amy and Jude.

We had a great time and can't wait to do it again!
