crazy hair night
Awanas is a program our church has for the kids and once a year they have Crazy Hair Night. In the past I have forgotten and haven't been prepared ahead of time. This year...I was ready. I let the boy's hair grow out and then did this...
Tim's is my personal favorite. His class doesn't have a contest like the older kids do, but if it did I think he would have won.
Crazy, crazy boys!
Nora couldn't decide until the last moment what she wanted. The picture makes it hard to see, but her bangs are red and the rest of her hair is green.
Did I mention that we had to come home, wash hair, blow dry it, cut it and then go to bed (late of course) and be up at 6 the next morning for a field trip?

A month ago a friend asked me if I was interested in an art class for the kids. I told her I had been looking for one since art is clearly not my strong suit and the kids would love to do more of it. She explained that the teacher taught for a local private school and homeschoolers on the side. She did the classes at our library. I signed Nathaniel up not knowing what to expect. This is what he drew/painted on the first day.
Pam, Nathaniel's teacher called me and asked if she could enter the painting in an art show. The school district was having one for grades 5 and under and it was hosted at the library.
So, enter it we did! I don't know yet if there will be prizes or not but there is a reception in a couple of weeks and the painting will stay up at the library until May.
Nathaniel is quite proud of it and so he should be!
