We left Show Low on Monday morning and headed to Phoenix to visit with Sandy's cousin Nathan.
On the way to Phoenix we started to see the Saguaro cactus.
The boys find cactus fascinating!
Phoenix traffic was a good warm up for LA traffic. Phoenix did not leave any good impressions on me. While waking in to McDonalds I was run off the sidewalk by a man and when I held the door for his girlfriend who was pushing a stroller she never said a word of thanks. I guess I'm no longer in the midwest.
I forgot about the California Bug Stations! They check to make sure you are not bringing in produce that could transmit bugs to their crops.
The traffic was thick and fast moving and so we didn't stop to get a picture of the kids at the State Line. There was a mass Labor Day migration of vacationers returning to the city. We hit heavy traffic (by midwest standards, not LA) 3-4 hours outside of LA. So not used to this! Having recently had an accident I was more nervous than normal, but we arrived safely with more than a few frayed nerves.
