Sunday we left Flagstaff and our bathroomless KOA cabin behind. After a hearty breakfast and a stop at Starbucks we headed out of town toward the east. Today Wyatt was struggling with the intestinal bug that my boys had had days before. Poor kid.
Our first stop was the Petrified Forest and Painted Desert. I must stop here and begrudgingly say thank you to Mr. Obama. Thanks to his "Every Kid in a Park" program we have been getting in free to every National Park we stop at. Also, thank you to Shaunda and Heather for reminding Sandy and I to do it.
The Painted Desert
The landscape is odd and leaves you feeling like you are on another planet.
Petrified wood.
The "wood" is just laying around broken in pieces.
A larger log.
