This morning we took a walk on the C&O Canal. C&O stands for Chesapeake and Ohio. It is a canal linking the two. Most of it is the Potomac River widened to withstand the boat traffic.

While walking, the girls decided to see which of the boys was taller.
Looking at Dam #4 on the Potomac. It is used to raise up the water level 13 miles upstream creating a deep and slow river. This area is known as the Big Slackwater. It raises the level of the Potomac to allow for boat traffic.

A natural spring that flows out of a cave and into the Potomac. It also is a great place for little kids to play.
