After leaving Heather's, the kids and I headed south to Colorado stopping at Denver and Colorado Springs for some shopping. We arrived late in the evening at the Cabin. Thankfully, Sandy and her crew was already there and got the place opened up.
Sandy and I had spent the last 8 months training to climb a 14er (short for a 14,000 foot mountain). To further prepare ourselves and the kids climbing with us we hiked every other day to acclimate ourselves. The first hike we did was to the top of the small mountain behind the cabin.
