Colorado - The Hayworths

We spent a week in Colorado right before the Labor Day weekend.  We planned to accomplish some work on my Dad's cabin and also to have a lot of fun with friends.  The first weekend we were there the Hayworths joined us.  It was a short visit with little sleep and not much got accomplished.  The first night in the cabin Chad and I woke to a loud (really loud) banging.  It happened twice that night and we couldn't find the source.  The next night when the Hayworths arrived the banging was even more enthusiastic.  After some detective work in the wee hours of the morning it was discovered that it was the dryer vent flapping in the wind.  The cabin is unfinished and without a dryer attached to the vent air was able to move freely in and out causing the loud noise.
The cabin at this point in time has stud walls in place but no running water or electricity.  It makes for a cozy place to camp as long as one has their expectations low.  Showers and toilets are a 10 minute drive away.  The wood burning stove provides heat and a generator helps with lights and cooking but after a week and a half we Bakers had enough roughing it.

Tim being an air traffic controller.  Really, I don't know what he was doing but it sure looked funny with his serious expression and sunglasses.

The Hayworths had come to take my Dad's camper off the lot and back to Kansas.  This is them leaving.  After sitting for two winters the camper did surprisingly well.  It had no flat tires and the wiring still worked.  We are glad to see it gone.
