Due to our late arrival at Windsor (there is more than just the castle, Windsor is a town) we had only 2 hours to enjoy the Castle. Pete promptly removed our luggage(Yes!), gave us two more giggly girls and nudged us into the castle while he and Maria waited with Jonathan and the luggage outside.
The girls were thrilled to see each other after a year and proceeded to giggle incessantly.
Once again we were not allowed to take pictures inside, but I snapped this one, I couldn’t pass it up.
We loved the castle! It wasn’t gaudy or overdone, it had plenty of paintings and sculptures but it was more our taste.

Even the lamp posts have crowns on top of them!
While I was in the gift shop there was a changing of the guard. I missed it but I got a picture of them walking away.
E II R is everywhere. It stands for Elizabeth Regina the Second. This year is the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth’s reign. There were markers everywhere in London. It was even on the Beefeaters uniforms at the Tower.
