We visited the Royal Mews the queen's horse stable that is attached to Buckingham Palace. The horses were out on holiday (vacation) but we still got to see quite a bit. No pun intended.
Our tour guide showing us a carriage. It was a gift from Australia and comes complete with air conditioning and power windows. Never knew that, did you? A carriage with AC and power windows, where have I been?
A gift from our President to the Queen. Horseshoes worn by a horse that was one of four that won the four-in-hand World Championships. Four-in-hand refers to a carriage being drawn by four horses.
Silver bits given to the queen from our President and his wife.
The stalls
A gold coach. Real gold, gold leaf not paint.
A fake horse pulling a real gold coach.
A real horse. One of two kept around to satisfy tourists and little girls like Nora.
Their indoor riding arena. The Royals have used it for riding before. Why can't we have riding arena like this in the states? Ours are always dusty, dirty and dark.
