Labor Day 14'

For the Labor Day week we headed out to the cabin to do some work and shut the place down for the winter.

It's easy to leave Kansas when it's almost 100 degrees outside.  Because we didn't' have any room in the vechiles we put the dogs in the back of the truck.  To keep them cool we gave them bags of ice to lay on.  Mika claimed as many as she could.

The Barnes flew to Kansas a couple of days before we left for Colorado.  Maria drove the van and Chad and I took the truck and trailer.  In Dodge City the van broke down and made an expensive trip to the mechanic.   Three hours later we were back on the road.

The kids and Katrina running wild and free.

The road grader was working on the road while we where there and gave the boys rides.

One of our favorite kid activites is making ice cream.  You put the ingredients inside a ball and surround it with ice.  Roll for 20 minutes and it's ready to eat.  It also keeps the kids out of your hair after dinner.

Maria washed the windows while we were there.

Face painting was another activity the kids enjoyed.

And wood, there is always wood to be cut, split and stacked.
