For awhile we have been trying to find a road into Elk Park. In the Colorado mountains there many abandoned roads. Some are old logging roads, some lead to mines and some lead to meadows, called parks on the map.
After trying several old roads that all dead ended we found the road to Elk Park. It was blocked with a gate and we had to leave the vechiles behind and hike uphill for 45 minutes. We arrived at sunset.
The views were fantastic!
Maggy was the only kid to join us. Here she is with Mt. Mestas behind her.
