Long ago I had planned on spending 3+ weeks in Colorado preceding the Labor Day weekend. Purchasing the new house and various other schedule conflicts shortened that to 1 and a half weeks.
When leaving a house sitting empty for several months it's best to clean up all food. I forgot about this cheese dip in the microwave. Isn't that an amazing mold growth? It almost had a life of it's own. Maria, you don't have to feel bad about the potatoes any longer, this was much worse.

While there Sandy, Alan and Vern climbed the West Spanish Peak. I cheered them on from the couch.
If you look behind and below Alan you will see Baloo, Sandy's dog. Farther down is Sandy, the picture gives perspective to the steepness and height of the mountain.
Our pervious trip on Memorial day we discovered that the water heater wouldn't work. Matt and Vern worked hard at solving the problem and by the end of the week we had plenty of hot water again.
A herd of Elk.
Hiking the Honey Trail.
Lounging on the deck with Susan and Chad.
Those of you that gave me money for my birthday, notice the nice chair Chad is sitting in. I bought two Adirondack chairs with the money, and we love them!
The week was a long kids sleepover.
The Bonnett Park seesaw, one of our favorite things to do.
Chad in Bonnett Park.
Our pups.
They love Colorado too! No fences, no leashes, chipmunks to chase, what is there to not like? They wore themselves to exhaustion.
We got out the binoculars to look at the moon. We also got out the telescope, but I don't have pictures of that.
Yvonne, my workout buddy also joined us and did a fantastic job of cooking Potstickers.
