On Saturday we visited Cow Town for "The Blue and the Gray" a Civil War reenactment. It was fun, hot and enjoyable. The kids didn't quite understand the whole idea of why adults would play dress up and they really didn't understand why I was excited to get a picture of them with a tall guy dressed in black wearing a funny hat. But it all went well and maybe when they are older they will understand more. Nathaniel (our ball obsessed boy) enjoyed an old fashioned game of Cricket while Nora and her friend Ella challenged the boundaries of what was allowed to be played with in the museum. I and our friend Matt (Ella's dad) tried out the "bike". I'm not sure what they are called, but it was sure and interesting ride with the help of an reenactor. We did not stay long enough to see the skirmish between the Union soldiers and the Confederates nor the firing of the canon but we still had a lot of fun.
