Why is it that when ever a conversation starts with "I saw an ad on Criagslist..." that I get a feeling that my life is about to change? A friend told me last Friday night of a female German Shepherd that had been posted on Criagslist. Long story short we now have a new dog! Mika is her name and she is a gorgeous 3 year old. We have been talking about getting a new dog since summer and even more so since Eddie died last month, but even then we weren't in any hurry. Mika was too perfect to pass up. Her previous owners invested a lot of time and money training her and she is fantastically well behaved. She even jumps through hula-hoops. Nora can't wait to try that! She comes already trained for the underground fencing/shock collar, something that will be needed around the chicken house for their safety.
Nathaniel wasn't' to interested in a new dog until he found out Mika loves balls just as much as he does. Now I have to tell not only a boy to stop running around the house, but a dog too.
Tim just wants to climb and wrestle with her, something we have to bee very careful with until we know her limits.
We are very excited to have a new family member.
